  13. I'm having a similar problem.  I just took delivery of a Compaq Presario
  14. 7222 with
  15. a 19.2/14.4 FAX modem.  It works fine on AOL, FAX, and on line
  16. registration with
  17. Compaq, but I can't use the dial-up network feature.  I've loaded Netscape
  18. (actually
  19. Netscape came pre-loaded.  It didn't work either) and gone through the set
  20. up
  21. routine.  Still same annoying message "modem is use by another telephony
  22. app."
  23. Oh, by the way, the modem is internal.
  24.
  25. I call the store where I bought it.  No help.  I called Compaq, they said
  26. call Netscape, I called Netscape they said call Compaq. I might kill
  27. myself.
  28.
  29. Any help will save a relatively useful life.
