- I'm having a similar problem. I just took delivery of a Compaq Presario
- 7222 with
- a 19.2/14.4 FAX modem. It works fine on AOL, FAX, and on line
- registration with
- Compaq, but I can't use the dial-up network feature. I've loaded Netscape
- (actually
- Netscape came pre-loaded. It didn't work either) and gone through the set
- up
- routine. Still same annoying message "modem is use by another telephony
- app."
- Oh, by the way, the modem is internal.
-
- I call the store where I bought it. No help. I called Compaq, they said
- call Netscape, I called Netscape they said call Compaq. I might kill
- myself.
-
- Any help will save a relatively useful life.
